چکیده

The emergence of resistant bacteria to aminoglycosides in pathogenic Gram-negative bacilli is a growing concern. study identifies the prevalence genes encoding resistance aminoglycoside bacterial infections tertiary hospitals Makkah, Saudi Arabia. A stock 246 clinical isolates were tested for using phenotypic and genotypic techniques. Of isolates, rates against tobramycin, kanamycin, gentamicin, neomycin, amikacin streptomycin 35%, 34.1%, 33%, 32.5%, 32.1% 31.3%, respectively. maximum other antibiotics was seen cefotaxime (48.0%) followed by amoxicillin clavulanic acid (41.5%) ciprofloxacin (24.8%). PCR results confirmed existence one or more aminoglycoside-resistant 69 (28%) isolates. rmtD highest-detected gene (58.0%), aac(6′)-Ib (56.5%), aac(3)-II (52.2%), rmtB rmtA (3) (43.5%), aph(3′)-Ia (42.0%). There significant association (p < 0.05) between type isolate. Our demonstrates mostly K. pneumonia E. coli, most predominant. Multiple drug-resistant monitoring must be continuous through identification implement effective measures reduce spread antimicrobial resistance.

Prevalence of Gram Negative Bacilli Isolated from the Equipment and Surfaces of Hospitals in Gorgan

Abstract Background and Objective: Nosocomial infection is one of the main factors of mortality in hospitals . One of the most important measures to control infection in hospitals is sampling of equipment and culturing the samples . This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of gram-negative bacilli obtained from the equipment of the hospital wards . Material...

In vitro activities of cefepime alone and with amikacin against aminoglycoside-resistant gram-negative bacteria.

The in vitro activity of cefepime was compared with those of ceftazidime, cefotaxime, and cefpirome against aminoglycoside-resistant gram-negative bacteria. Cefepime was the most active cephalosporin, with a MIC for 90% of strains tested for all non-Pseudomonas aeruginosa species of less than or equal to 4 micrograms/ml. No cefepime resistance was encountered among members of the family Enterob...

Prevalence of Genes Encoding Aminoglycoside Modifying Enzymes in Clinical Isolates of Klebsiella Pneumoniae in the Hospitals of Borujerd

Background and Aims: Given the importance of aminoglycoside resistance in nosocomial and community infections caused by bacterial pathogenes such as Klebsiella pneumoniae (K. pneumoniae), the aim of this study was to determine the frequency of aac (6')- Ib and aac (3)- IIa, the genes encoding aminoglycoside modifying enzymes involved in aminoglycoside resistance. Material and Methods: A t...

Antibiotic Resistance Pattern of Gram-Negative Bacteria in Gorgan

Abstract Background and Objective: The excessive use of broad-spectrum antibiotics will lead to drug resistance of microorganism and specially nosocomial organisms. Because of high incidence of antibiotic resistance in hospitals, we aimed to study antibiotic resistance to gram negative bacteria. Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on the data of biological sampl...
